TIPS FOR CARE AFTER RCT
A treated and restored tooth can last a lifetime with proper care. Root canals have a high success rate.
Once RCT is done, it’s your job to take care of your teeth and keep them cavity free. Cavities are mainly caused due to poor oral hygiene, so work on improving your oral hygiene skills. Remember, you were brushing your teeth and still got a cavity so there’s something wrong with either your brushing technique or your hygiene. Ask your dentist about how to improve these both.
Here are a few ways to take care of your teeth after a root canal:
- Practice good oral hygiene – brush teeth twice a day, and floss at least once. Taking care of your teeth can help prevent future problems.
- Avoid chewing on hard foods – chewing on hard foods can cause tooth to break.
- Get a crown on your tooth 2 weeks after root canal treatment.
- Visit the dentist regularly for cleanings and examinations.
