Got a Tooth Removed? Here’s what you do now…

What to do:

✅ Bite on the cotton that has been kept at the extraction site for about 30 to 45 minutes.

✅ Remove the cotton after 45 minutes and take something extremely cold, like a cup of ice cream. Take your painkiller right away before the effect of anaesthesia wears off.

✅ Take a cold and soft diet for 24 hours.

✅ To prevent swelling, apply an ice pack or a cold towel to your cheek behind the area of the tooth. Do this for at least 20 minutes. Repeat the same every hour for the first 24 hours.

✅ 24 hours after the surgery, gently rinse with warm salt water 3-4 times a day. Continue these rinses for the next 3-4 days.

What Not to do:

❌ Do not spit or rinse for the next 24 hours after surgery, it may lead to bleeding.

❌ Avoid hot and hard foodstuffs on the day of the extraction.

❌ Do not drink through a straw, blow your nose or sneeze. This may dislodge the blood clot.

❌ Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption for at least 48 hours.

❌ Avoid heavy lifting for 2-3 days.
